The Beginning of Time

They say it began and that it will end
the train in my dream flew above the earth
I thought its destination was the garden
I see we are speedily approaching a tunnel
in a forest hillside a rectangular entrance
but unlike other tunnels this one is not black
heavens inside the rectangle it is pure light
toward which our train is speeding and rocking
it will blind us and that will be the end of time
the end of time and the beginning of God
said the old woman

My dear it is all in your mind that bed of confusion
there is neither a beginning nor an end only a wheel trust me
my eye looks upward into blue and white through a roughly
hexagonal window
then I lock my doors
then there are terrifying dreams
mud is thrown at me I am trampled
I am ripped apart I am burned alive
I become ash, ash
a shrieking wind destroys me in my dreams
I return adorned in six red silks
everything comes around said the tulip

They know I hate being alone
after I finish my supper I search each room
I thump my tail until I am tired
I curl on the couch because it smells like them
but sleep eludes me
he drives recklessly
what if they have an accident
what if evil men kidnap them
what if they never return
what if time decelerates and stops
said the dog
